The growth of our language is the foundation of our overall development of us. Without the knowledge of our language, the pains of over hearts cannot be relieved. Hindi is our language and it is our National Language. Hindi is not only India's main language of communication but it is the vehicle of Indian civilization, culture and Indian spirit. Today, Hindi has become the second most spoken language in the world. Realizing the importance of Hindi, it is taught in nearly 150 foreign universities. In today's age of globalization, commercialization and information technology, Hindi has acquired greater significance. Hindi graduates and postgraduates have been offered Job opportunities in banks, LIC, government offices and multinational companies. In the contemporary world, Hindi has been practiced as a profession in the area of translation, advertisement and media.

              The Hindi department was established in 1970. Graduate and postgraduate programs are taught in the department. In the graduate program, Hindi has been taught as a core component, composite course, ancillary component and disciplinary component.  In the postgraduate program syllabus of choice-based credit System is being taught.  The Hindi department celebrates ‘Hindi week’ every year in the month of September. Essay competition, elocution, poetry reciting, wallpaper writing, guest lectures etc. are arranged during ‘Hindi week’.
