Department of Economics

The Department of Economics was established in the year 1970. Graduate and postgraduate programs are taught in the department. We have permanent affiliated to S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Mumbai Since 1970.In the graduate program, Economics has been taught as a Arts and Commerce, Economics has been taught as a Core Component, disciplinary component, ancillary component and applied component. In the postgraduate program syllabus of choice-based credit System is being taught.  The Department of Economics organized group discussion on ‘Union Budget’ every year in the month of February. Essay competition, Bridge Course, wallpaper writing, guest lecturers etc. are arranged during the academic year.

Mission:

To create the awareness among the student of the Indian Economy and to discuss current issues and provide relevant, up to date and career- oriented education in Economics.

AIMS:

To develop Rational Approach for Economics behaviors and values in younger generation by teaching-learning and extension activities, supporting effective qualities and skills of students for growing them into society as responsible and excellent human. 

Objective:

1. Up gradation of knowledge in recent trends and developments in Economics.
2. To acquaint recent trends and skills in different branches of Economics.
3. To create environmental and social awareness by exposing students to various activities.
4. To guide and support the P.G. students for research work in the subject.
5. To encourage the students in solving the various economic problems.
